Jewellery has always fascinated me—not simply for its beauty, but for the quiet confidence and individuality it can bring to everyday life.

When it came time to name the brand, I chose "Maia" after the Greek goddess associated with growth and renewal. Those ideas reflected both my own creative journey and the kind of brand I hope to build - one that celebrates thoughtful design, individuality and enduring beauty. 

Where It All Began

Long before Maia Gems was founded, I spent my high school years making and selling crystal jewellery. What began as a creative hobby gradually grew into a lasting appreciation for craftsmanship, thoughtful design and the beauty of natural stones.

Design Philosophy

Although my professional career began outside the jewellery industry, my fascination with jewellery never left. Studying interior design gave me the opportunity to return to a passion that had first begun in high school and deepened my appreciation for objects that balance beauty with purpose. 

As I began learning more about natural gemstones, I found myself drawn not only to their beauty, but to their individuality. No two stones are ever exactly alike, and that quiet uniqueness continues to inspire every Maia Gems collection today. Even today, discovering a gemstone with exceptional colour and character remains one of my favourite part of the creative process. While rarity has its place, we are equally drawn to gemstones for their beauty, quality and value, creating jewellery that can be worn and enjoyed every day.

Craftsmanship

Today, we work with trusted suppliers and skilled craftsmen across Hong Kong, Thailand and India to bring our designs to life. Depending on the collection, our jewellery is crafted in 18K or 14K gold, sterling silver and other carefully selected materials, each chosen to suit the design while maintaining the same commitment to craftsmanship, comfort and lasting style.

Inspired by History

Every collection begins with inspiration. Sometimes it comes from the elegance of vintage jewellery, sometimes from Greek and Roman mythology, and sometimes from modern architecture and imagined futures. While each collection tells a different story, they all share the same goal: to create jewellery that feels timeless yet personal, refined yet effortless.
